Hello, I'm Marta, and I'm a passionate Hatha Yoga teacher and Thai Yoga Massages practitioner, specializing in the gentle yet profound approach of Somatic Yoga. My personal journey into yoga began in 2010, starting as a search for balance and an escape from daily stress, which quickly evolved into a deeper quest for self-discovery.
Through years of exploring various styles and teachers, I came to truly understand the immense impact physical activity has on our overall well-being – not just on mobility, but profoundly on our mental state. This realization naturally led me to Somatic Yoga, a practice that emphasizes internal awareness and gentle, mindful movement to release chronic tension and foster greater ease in the body and mind.
The path to founding Freedõm Of Movement Yoga and integrating somatic healing wasn't an intellectual choice at first; it was a deeply personal necessity.

When I initially started practicing yoga around 2010, like many people, I was seeking balance and a form of escape from my daily stress. I was drawn to the physical challenge and the mobility it offered. I spent years exploring various intense styles of yoga, always pushing for the next advanced pose, trying to achieve that "perfect" outward alignment.
What I came to realize, however, was that while I was getting physically stronger, the underlying tension—the chronic holding and internal unease—wasn't truly going away. My mental state was still anxious, and I was using the practice to override my body's subtle signals, rather than listen to them.
This constant internal struggle eventually led me to a crucial realization: the immense impact of movement isn't just on our muscles, but profoundly on our nervous system and emotional well-being. I understood that true, lasting freedom wasn't found in escaping my body or forcing it into a shape, but in returning to it—listening to its stories.
I realized I didn't want to just teach poses; I wanted to create a sanctuary where the physical practice of yoga was a Somatic Experience—a safe journey back into the wisdom of the body to release held trauma and cultivate a deep sense of belonging and peace. That journey of integration is the heart of Freedõm Of Movement Yoga.

My philosophy is further enriched by the timeless principles of Ayurveda, which recognizes the elemental wisdom within and around us. Just as the earth, water, fire, air, and ether compose the natural world, so too do they shape our individual constitution. Through my classes, we explore how aligning with these elemental energies—balancing and harmonizing them—can unlock a pathway to holistic well-being. This practice is not just a physical one; it is an act of Eco-psychology, a reunion with the greater ecosystem of which we are a part. By reconnecting with the innate rhythms of nature, we can mend the fragmentation between our inner and outer worlds, cultivating a deep sense of belonging, peace, and embodied freedom.

As both a yoga instructor and a practitioner of Thai Yoga Massage, I’ve seen firsthand how these two disciplines beautifully complement each other. For me, it's not about choosing one over the other; it’s about a single, continuous journey. My mat is where I explore my own strength and mobility, but through Thai Yoga Massage, I've learned how to give and receive a deeper level of healing.
You see, Thai Yoga Massage is often called "assisted yoga" for a reason. While you actively stretch and balance in your own practice, this modality allows you to completely surrender and receive the benefits of deep, therapeutic stretches, acupressure, and energetic balancing. It’s the passive part of the practice—the moment where you let go and allow another to guide your body into a state of profound release and harmony.

Today, my daily practice is a testament to the transformative power of an active and healthy lifestyle, enriched by somatic principles. It's a journey of listening deeply, finding freedom in movement, and continuously connecting with the subtle wisdom of the body. I'm excited to share this path to embodied well-being with you.
Freedõm of Movement Yoga merges the ancient wisdom of Yoga and Pranayama (breathwork) with modern therapeutic approaches like Somatic Experiencing and Mindfulness . The philosophy holds that true freedom is found not by escaping the body, but by listening to its stories and honouring its wisdom.
