Escape to the foot of the Howgill Fells for an immersive weekend designed to nourish your body, calm your mind, and reset your digestive system. Set in the converted Victorian vicarage of St. Mark’s Stays, this retreat merges restorative movement, cold-water therapy, somatic practices, and targeted organic juice cleanses.
Spring is nature’s natural window for detoxifying, releasing accumulated tension, and creating space for new growth. Set within the converted Victorian vicarage of St. Mark’s Stays, this three-day weekend offers a complete nervous system and digestive reset.
The experience is divided into four curated pillars:
Myofascial Release: Deep, slow floor postures combined with therapy ball techniques to target fascia, break up structural tension, and release stored somatic stress.
Yin Yoga for Liver Meridian: A slow, meditative Yin Yoga practice designed to target the Liver Meridian—the body's natural pathway for detoxification, smooth energy flow, and emotional release.
Lymphatic Drainage: A self-care practice utilizing soft facial massage, jaw tension release, and manual lymphatic clearing to depuff, awaken circulation, and foster a natural internal glow.
Yoga therapy for Digestion: Dropping into the left sense of the body with somatic vinyasa flow.
Restorative Evening Yoga: Supported relaxation sessions with bolsters, blankets, and guided Yoga Nidra to prepare your nervous system for rest and digest.
Organic Cold-Pressed Juices: Vibrant green and root juices packed with enzymes, chlorophyll, and antioxidants to support liver phase-I and phase-II detox pathways.
Mineral-Rich Cleansing Broths: Warm, botanical broths designed to replenish sodium, potassium, and trace minerals after cold-water sessions without burdening digestion.
Clean Eating Guidance: Practical insights and a Sunday transition meal focused on gut health, blood sugar balance, and building sustainable healthy eating habits at home.
Guided Fell Walk: A scenic walk directly from the venue through the Cumbrian landscape toward England's highest above-ground waterfall.
Wild Swimming: A supervised, invigorating wild dip in the fresh mountain-fed pools of Cautley Spout to awaken the skin, stimulate circulation, and clear the mind.
Wood-Fired Garden Sauna: Deep heat therapy to relax tight muscles, encourage sweating, and soothe the joints.
Cold Plunge Therapy: Targeted ice bath sessions paired with the sauna to reduce systemic inflammation, boost immune response, and release endorphins.
Nestled in the picturesque hamlet of Cautley near Sedbergh, Cumbria, St. Mark’s Stays is a beautifully restored former Victorian vicarage set right at the foot of the magnificent Howgill Fells.
Surrounded by rolling hills, quiet country lanes, and dramatic fell views, the venue offers a peaceful, secluded atmosphere designed for rest, reflection, and deep connection with nature.
Thoughtful Accommodations: Spacious, cozy rooms that blend historic charm with modern comforts, providing a warm and restful sanctuary throughout your stay.
Bright Studio & Practice Space: Dedicated areas for our movement, facial flow, and yoga sessions, allowing natural light and peaceful views of the surrounding landscape.
Tranquil Communal Spaces: Warm, inviting dining and lounge areas created for shared cleansing broths, quiet reading, or relaxed conversations with fellow retreat guests.
Outdoor Contrast Therapy Area: A garden space featuring a wood-fired sauna and cold plunge bath, ideal for heat-and-cold therapy surrounded by fresh mountain air.

All-Inclusive Catering: Seasonal, plant-forward meals prepared in the farmhouse kitchen designed and served by highly experienced plant based chef Paula Donaldson from Natural Health Kitchen.
