From Chaturanga to Pincha: Forearm Balance Workshop
SAT JUN 13, 10 - 11:30 AM BST (SAT JUN 13, 10 - 11:30 AM BST)

Power & Precision

Stop "pushing" and start "floating." This workshop tackles two of the most misunderstood transitions in yoga: the Chaturanga Dandasana (the yogic push-up) and the elusive Pincha Mayurasana (Forearm Balance).

Many practitioners struggle with shoulder pain or a "heavy" feeling in these poses. We’re here to fix that by focusing on the mechanical "sweet spot" where strength meets alignment. You’ll learn how a solid Chaturanga is actually the secret launchpad for a stable forearm stand.

What We’ll Master:

- The Chaturanga Blueprint: Correcting the "dipping shoulder" habit and learning how to use the serratus anterior to protect your joints.

- Forearm Foundation: Building the specific shoulder mobility required to stack the hips over the elbows without arching the back.

- The "Pincha" Path: Moving from Dolphin Pose into a controlled forearm balance using wall drills and partner spotting.

- Transition Fluidity: How to jump back from Crow Pose to Chaturanga with grace, power, and zero impact on the wrists.

Workshop Details:

- Level: Intermediate. A basic understanding of Sun Salutations is recommended.

- Focus: Scapular stability, tricep engagement, and core integration.

- The Goal: To move from "muscling through" to finding a light, gravity-defying practice.

- Where: Tru Yoga in Alnwick.
