
Step into a sanctuary of stillness with our 60 minutes session of Deep Rest session, a fusion of gentle physical healing and sonic tranquillity.
The session flows through three distinct pillars of relaxation:
1. Somatic Movement
We begin with gentle, internal sensing. Rather than focusing on "stretching" muscles, we use Somatic Yoga to release chronic tension held in the nervous system. These slow, brain-to-body movements help "unstick" tight areas, improve mobility, and bring you into the present moment.
2. Restorative Stillness
Moving from movement into stillness, we transition into Restorative Pose. Using props for total support, you will hold gentle posture for extended periods. This allows the physical body to soften completely, encouraging the "rest and digest" response and soothing the adrenal glands.
Atmosphere: Dim lighting, a quiet environment, and a slow, meditative pace.
Intensity: Very low. This class is about being, not doing.
Who it’s for: Everyone. No previous yoga experience is required. It is especially beneficial for those dealing with stress, fatigue, or physical stiffness.
Please wear warm, comfortable layers (socks are encouraged!). While props are provided at Watson House, feel free to bring your favourite blanket or an eye pillow to enhance your comfort.
